Learning through play and socialization may be fun for preschoolers, but research shows that four-year-olds are getting major benefits from early education.

Midland ISD early childhood education programs are designed to provide services for 4 and 5 year olds. The goal of early childhood education is to successfully prepare and transition students to a more rigorous academic setting appropriate to the individual student.

The mission of Early Childhood Education in Midland ISD is to:
 
  • Provide opportunities for children to explore and expand knowledge of their environment by focusing their innate curiosity.
  • Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate experiences which allow children to grow socially, emotionally, intellectually, aesthetically, culturally, and physically.
  • Provide a risk free and nurturing environment.
  • Creatively and responsively empower families to enrich the environment of their culturally unique family life in ways that contribute to school success for their children.

    The vision of the Midland ISD Early Childhood Program is to provide a well planned, high quality early childhood program in which curriculum aims are specified and integrated across domains enabling children to learn more and be better prepared to master the complex demands of formal schooling.
